Ridge Manor is a quaint, mostly residential and rural area located in eastern Hernando County, close to the Pasco County border. It is situated near the junction of U.S. 301 and State Road 50, with Interstate 75 just a few miles to the west. A key feature of Ridge Manor is its beautiful natural environment. The development of Ridge Manor began in the 1950s, led by Ohio developer J. Earl Miller, who had a vision for a planned community. In 1953, Miller acquired approximately 1,000 acres and later added another 2,700 acres along the Withlacoochee River. The Withlacoochee River flows through the southern and western parts of the community, while surrounding forests, wetlands, lakes, and expansive undeveloped spaces contribute to a distinctly rural atmosphere typical of Central Florida.
